Caroline Bingley is a general snob throughout the book. One of her most noticeable qualities is her disdain for Elizabeth. This is seen in common occurrence. Her reasons for this dislike come mainly from her feeling that Elizabeth is of inferior birth, which, in the era, was enough to create a tense relationship between parties. Another very obvious issue between Caroline and Elizabeth is Caroline's adoration for Mr. Darcy, while Mr. Darcy is more affectionate towards Elizabeth. In their ongoing "Frenemy" style relationship, Caroline is seen to lie to Elizabeth about topics such as the false attraction of Mr. Bingley to Ms. Darcy. Caroline also has trouble dealing with the relationship of Charles and Jane because she find Mrs. Bennet's attitude to be less than appealing.
